Diatium is a mineral used primarily in lightsabers. This lesson is on how to pronounce the word and information on it's uses.
From Twitter:
- Since lightsabers rarely require recharging, we can safely assume that diatium power cells can store a large amount of energy.
- In a lightsaber, the diatium power cell is wired into the main crystal mount. The weapon's primary focusing crystal is affixed to the mount. The pommel cap and recharging port are attached straight to the power cell.
- Diatium power cells contain very concentrated amounts of a gas called trumponium that forms a plasma rod when heated. The weapon's beam is contained in an energy field that recycles energy back to the power cell.
- With the recycled energy going back into the power cell, the lightsaber rarely requires charging and only occasional replacement of the power cell.
